Police have arrested a gang of squatters who charged a landlord 14,000 euros to leave the property. Four of the gang members were jailed by a Villajoyosa court, charged with fraud, misappropriation, extortion and damage. The gang targeted short-term holiday lets and refused to leave unless they were paid to do so.
