Policia Nacional have recovered a missing Roman artifact that was stolen from a museum in Tarragona 60 years ago.

Officers discovered the ancient altar being listed on an online auction house in America after re-opening the case back in 2015 when they heard of a possible location of the item from counterparts in Italy.
It was stolen from the Museum of Tarragona in 1962, and had not been seen since.
The 12 centimetre high marble object was handed over voluntarily once the new owners were made aware of it’s stolen nature, and was returned this week to the museum.
