A disagreement is understood to have emerged between coalition partners PSOE and Unidos Podemos regarding protests surrounding the jailing of rapper Pablo Hasel.
On Wednesday, Unidos Podemos spokesperson Pablo Echenique voiced his support for the protests over the imprisonment of the controversial rapper.
The protests descended into riots with dozens of arrests and a woman being seriously injured.
Yesterday deputy leader of PSOE – Carmen Calvo – voiced her criticism of Enchenique’s comments, calling for him not to encourage further protests.
Opposition parties have called for the sacking of both Echenique and Podemos leader Pablo Iglesias as well as the end of the coalition government.
The latest disagreement came after both parties failed to find common ground over equality laws being debated in the congress of deputies at the moment.
There were further disturbances last night in Catalonia and also Valencia, from those calling for the immediate release of the rapper.
