A third collapse of a beach wall in Orihuela Costa has highlighted in instability of the terrain in the area. This has caused the residents of Punta Prima to call for the city council to take action.
Part of the wall of the Punta Prima beach collapsed after the rain of recent days. The soil in the area is clay based with a reddish colour. This means that the erosion of the sea and rainfall softens the land and causes landslides to occur.
The area has been fenced off, and Orihuela City Council is organising emergency repairs which will hopefully be carried out before June 15th when the high season begins.
