Five people were injured in a two-car collision on the N332 between Altea and Calpe yesterday morning at about 8am. Two people were trapped in the wreckage when the fire-crews arrived. The wounded were three men aged 33, 41 and 53 who all suffered chest injuries and two women aged 46 and 54 with multiple injuries.
Meanwhile, a female motorist was lucky to survive as her car plunged several metres down the embankment of the AP7 near to Benidorm at roughly the same time in the morning.
The driver, who was trapped upside down in her car, managed to call the emergency services and Police used a drone to locate the vehicle.
