TKO DJ Stevie Spit received his BEM from Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Spain Hugh Elliott yesterday, at a ceremony held at the Emerald Isle in La Florida. The British Empire Medal is granted in recognition of meritorious civil service with well-known entertainer Stevie earning his accolade for services to charity.
Stevie dedicates much of his time to fundraising and has personally assisted scores of charities. Among those he has helped are the Elche Children’s Care Home and he almost single-handedly raised enough money to send Natasha Lynch to the USA for lifesaving medical treatment. He also, at great risk to himself, he took his drag act to Kabul, where he raised thousands of dollars for local causes.
