The University Hospital of Torrevieja has created a new department to address the growing incidence and prevalence of cardiovascular diseases. The ‘Lipids Unit’ is a multi-disciplinary department with care provision, teaching and research facilities.
It will combine the skills of health professionals from various specialties such as endocrinologists, internists, cardiologists, nutritionists, laboratory specialists and pharmacists. Patients will be educated on lifestyle choices to ultimately prevent or reduce cardiovascular risk.
