Ribera, the company currently running Torrevieja Hospital has revealed that 17 Department Heads are planning to leave when the running and management of the hospital is handed back to the Ministry of Health.
It is believed that the decisions have been based on the lack of information available regarding what will happen to specific roles and the poor record the Ministry has in its relationship with public sector health workers.
The spokesman termed the decisions a ´talent drain’ of renowned professionals, which he said would included the heads of: Cardiology, Thoracic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Electrophysiology, Hematology, Hemodynamics, Neurophysiology, Paediatrics, Radiodiagnosis, Interventional Radiology, Rehabilitation, UHD, Emergency and Urology. The three medical coordinators of the health centres also leave the department.
