Tourism chiefs have warned of significant delays and chaos at airports in Spain unless more police are drafted in to deal with passport control at some of the country’s busiest airports.
Passport checks for British holidaymakers during the peak holiday season are expected to cause disruption to holidaymakers arriving in Spain.
Tourism alliance Exceltur have warned that the airports at holiday destinations could face serious disruption, with the Balearic Islands likely to suffer the most due to a shortage of policia nacional officers at the airports.
Exceltur also warned that planned industrial action by airline staff could also cause disruption during the peak holiday season.
