Two Drownings in One Day

Hot on the heels of the announcement of a campaign to prevent drowning in the Valencian Community, comes the news of two further deaths on the Costa Blanca coastline. A 76 year-old man was pulled from the sea by beach-goers at Poniente beach after lifeguards had left for the day. Earlier in the day, a swimmer at Elche’s El Carabassi beach was spotted in trouble by lifeguards, but they were unable to revive him.
