Astronomers in Ciudad Real observed a meteorite fall to earth late on Friday night.
The object entered the earths atmosphere travelling at over 48,000 kilometres an hour and burnt brighter than the moon in the skies above Toledo, finally burning out over Sierra Morena at over 23 kilometres in the air.
Officials said that it could be spotted across most of Spain, with reports of the fireball being seen over 500 kilometres away from the main entry point.
