A local Waste Management Plan to improve and modernise the service has been drawn-up for Orihuela – with an investment of 20 million euros over the next six years.
The plan will address the efficiency of street collections and trial a door-to-door collection service in homes, with people paying for the waste they generate. Video surveillance systems at dumping black spots and the opening of a coastal eco-park are also planned.
