Guardia Civil in Alicante have released an Algerian woman who was being held captive for more than a year in a house in Agost.
Two people – also Algerians – were arrested in the operation, which saw officers raid a property after being informed by a tip off from the victims family.
It is understood the woman was locked in the house garage, worked for no pay and was malnourished when officers discovered her – she managed to contact a family member without being detected who then raised the alarm.
